Well maybe not....but some of you will remember that song that Shirley Temple sang in the 1935 movie Curly Top.
Well digressing to modern times, Today, April 18th is National Animal Crackers Day.
From Wikipedia, "Animal biscuit crackers were made and distributed under the National Biscuit Company banner. In 1902, animal crackers officially became known as "Barnum's Animals" and evoked the familiar circus theme of the Barnum and Bailey Circus."
Everyone remembers eating animal crackers when they were young. It's a certain part of childhood. Even today at the zoo or elsewhere when you see young mothers pushing their kids around in strollers, they always offer the kids animal crackers to make them happy.
But as an adult, we don't get to partake of this tasty cookie very often. Since today is a National Day commemorating the Animal Cracker - I think it is your duty to sneak a quick snack of some of those cookies. You can tell the lady at the store register they are for your kid - maybe they will believe you =)
