Easy Candy Making At Home:

There is nothing like making chocolate for family and friends. You can bring Christmas tree lollipops to your kid’s school. Or make a set of couch potato chocolates complete with a lazy santa on his easy chair with a TV, remote and a beer. How about making a gift box of chocolates that look like they came from an expensive chocolate case at the mall?

This is easier than you think and I will show you how. You need to purchase some good quality chocolate. It could be chocolate chips or melting wafers that can be purchased at a Cake & Candy store. In addition clear plastic molds can be purchased in the shape of the items you want to make.

To melt chocolate, add to a microwave safe cereal ceramic bowl and 8 ounces of chocolate. Microwave on 50% and stir every 30 seconds. You don’t want to burn the chocolate!  The chocolate should only be microwaved until it just has melted, no more. Too much heating time will result in lumpy candy that may taste burnt.

Find a small spoon and spoon into the mold. Tap the molds lightly on the counter and place flat in the refrigerator for 45 minutes. Do not remove the mold too soon as it will be more difficult to remove the chocolate and the surface will be dull.

Find a nice gift box or even use a decorative mug and wrap in clear cellophane wrapping with a bow.

Chocolate can be purchased in milk, dark, white and colors. You can mix some dark and white together and swirl them.

You will be a hit at any party or fundraiser.
